Technical Project Manager

FLYR is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to manage the second phase of a custom software implementation project for a large enterprise client in the travel industry. This position requires a combination of project management, process optimization, and execution. If you enjoy solving problems, working with engineering teams and the opportunity to build out processes as you manage the project, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!
This is a 3-6 month contract position here in our SF SoMA office location, with possibility to convert to permanent.
Remote or full time telecommute candidates will not be considered.
You will:
- Conduct calls with FLYR teams and the client. Track and document decisions and action items from meetings.
- Liaise with the client and with FLYR’s engineering and product teams to address obstacles and unblock team members.
- Review and update Jira and Asana boards to ensure that task boards are prioritized and stories are complete and include estimates, sprint assignment, etc.
- Monitor and report on key Agile performance metrics to leadership team and escalate any significant issues to management as needed.
- Manage project scope, timeline and risks and communicate updates to team members, leadership teams and to the client on a regular basis.
- Work with the team to develop standard processes that can be used for future implementations.
The ideal candidate:
- Has 3+ years of experience with running agile software development implementation projects as a project manager or scrum master.
- Is not an engineer, however, understands information technology and has experience working with technical teams
- Has a start-up mentality. Is not afraid to roll-up his/her sleeves and help with writing the Scope of Work, User Stories or Functional Requirements
- Can work out of the headquarters in San Francisco
- Is flexible with scheduling. Client and FLYR teams are located in San Francisco, the Middle East and Europe. Must be willing to be available during normal business hours (8AM - 5PM PT) and attend client calls between 8PM and 11PM PT Sunday through Thursday.
- Has excellent written and oral communication skills
- Is extremely organized and has a meticulous attention to detail
