The purpose of this role is to provide free, impartial and confidential advice on a range of academic issues to students. The post-holder will also be responsible for recording case details and providing information on issues affecting City students, maintaining high levels of customer service and maintaining key relationships with the University.

Responsibilities

The post-holder will build effective working relationships with all stakeholders and provide a high quality service to all customers. They will provide accurate and confidential advice to students on a range of issues including academic appeals, academic misconduct, complaints and disciplinaries. In addition, the post-holder will record accurate case notes and contribute to the delivery of workshops and production of materials to promote awareness on key issues.

Person Specification

The post-holder will have previous experience in a similar role with a good understanding of the key issues facing students in Higher Education. The ability to provide impartial, confidential and accurate advice and advocacy on a range of academic issues to students is essential to this role. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required to build rapport along with an empathetic, non-judgmental approach when providing advice. The post-holder will be customer focused and well organised with good information gathering and analysis skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
