The Software Developer is responsible for the technical specification, development and documentation of systems utilized by Certiport customers and partners.The Software Developer reports to the manager of systems development, and is responsible for adhering to company practices throughout the software development process.Additionally, the Software Developer plays an integral role on project teams as assigned, and is responsible to the team and the project manager for successful completion of assigned work.Key accountability revolves around following Certiport’s process for software development and meeting delivery dates and quality standards.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ Software Design and Development (80%)

+ Actively participate in the Agile SCRUM process with the team.

+ Participate in the design of systems to be developed.

+ Provide time estimates for software development.

+ Develop the software to meet the requirements and design.

+ Participate as required in design and code reviews.

+ Follow prescribed procedures for code documentation, revision control and system documentation.

+ As assigned, participate as a member of project teams, meeting accepted milestones.

+ Communicate modifications, schedule adjustments and known issues to project management.

+ Work with Operations during the transition from development to deployment.

+ Software Quality Assurance (10%)

+ Perform unit testing on developed code.

+ Create automated unit tests for use by developers and QA.

+ Work with test team (QA) to evaluate, identify and correct software defects.

+ Career Development (5%)

+ Stay abreast of industry practices and technologies to be used in the development process.

+ Meetings (5%)

+ Attend and participate in team, department and company meetings.

+ Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

**Education and/or Experience: **

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent Science preferred but combined experience and skills will be considered
  • Object-oriented development experience is required
  • 3 years of experience developing Windows and Web solutions using Microsoft technologies is required
  • 3 years of experience with .NET development – C\# is required
  • Proficiency with SQL, XML, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • SQL Server experience preferred
  • Azure DevOps orTeam Foundation Server experience preferred
