Please note, we do not accept CVs.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a school secretary at our busy, vibrant, dynamic and friendly school.
Are you an experienced School Secretary, with a passion for creating a great first impression for visitors?

Are you able to juggle multiple priorities, hold great conversations and manage a busy telephone and email system?
If so we’d strongly encourage you to apply!

We recognise that it's our team who make Polegate School the success it is today and we understand the importance of career development and training. We're continuously investing in our team and their learning.

We can promise you it would never be boring! You will be working in a brand new office and joining Polegate School at a really exciting time as we expand to become a three form entry school. You will come into contact with a wide range of people: including teachers; pupils, parents and carers, education welfare officers, social workers and school governors. You are the first point of contact for all visitors to the school. The role includes providing secretarial services for the headteacher. You will also ensure appropriate administrative procedures are undertaken so ICT skills are essential for national data requirements, creating documents and tables and handing computer based matters.

The successful candidate will have some previous school experience, and demonstrate a warm and engaging communication style (both face to face and by phone/email). You will be able to manage difficult conversations and uphold school policies. Administration experience, speed typing for producing letters and documents, would also be an advantage as well as the ability to organise and prioritise workloads. Above all, you'll be ready to create an excellent impression with everyone who comes into contact with Polegate School.

This post is for 37 hours per week and working hours are 8.00am - 4.00pm.
