About your role:

  • Determine vision, roadmap and goals for Fandom’s structured data taxonomy and knowledge graph
  • Partner with data science to leverage machine learning, crowdsourcing and content acquisition to build a large scale catalog and taxonomy for movie/TV/anime/video game releases, publishers, genres
  • Regularly work with stakeholders to assess needs and potential impact of projects
  • Collaborate with the platform architect and development teams to determine the best possible technical solutions
  • Analyze data and metrics to make intelligent decisions on optimizing our taxonomy models
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

  • Work closely with engineering teams to reliably deliver high quality software

We are looking for people who have…

  • 5+ years of product management / software development experience
  • Demonstrated experience building structured data systems at scale
  • Technical experience with large volumes of data and the challenges they present
  • Proven ability to use data to solve business problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Great verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical and metadata information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to lead teams and work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment
  • Interest in solving challenges for a rapidly growing business
  • Familiar with Jira, project management methodologies, KPIs, OKRs, SLAs, techniques to measure impact, discover requirements and perform product retrospectives
  • Bias toward data and action, and can break down complex problems into steps that efficiently drive product development toward achieving OKRs
  • Most of all, someone who is smart, loves to do good work and inspire others to do good work, and deliver value to customers

  • Experience with machine learning and natural language processing
  • Proven ability to tie Taxonomy delivery with customer-centric outcomes
  • Engineering background
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience working with distributed teams
  • Experience with products localized into many languages for a world-wide user base and audience
  • Experience with highly engaged, scaled consumer products
  • Being a true entertainment (games, tv, and/or movies) fan
