Works together with other Team Members to assure that all objectives and goals of the department and store, as communicated by the Team Leader/Store Leadership, are met or exceeded. Provides excellent guest service while serving and selling the highest quality foods. Abides by the strictest standards of food safety, freshness, and sanitation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate cash register and accurately tally guest purchases.

Maintain secure custody of all cash, the cash till, and any other items such as register key.

Collect payment for purchase and correctly make change.

Follow all department procedures regarding cash handling.

Notify the immediate Supervisor of any errors in retail pricing or signage.

When necessary, bag groceries and gather shopping carts.

Keep the register areas neat, clean, and well-stocked.

Satisfy and delight customers by providing excellent customer service.

Maintain a well-stocked and well-merchandised department including department supplies, back stock areas, accurate pricing, and signage and support of Regional and national sales promotions.

Be aware and gain knowledge of new products and their placement.

Properly document product transfers, sampled product, waste, and spoilage using appropriate forms.

Effectively communicate with all Team Members regarding department operations.

Help cross-merchandise product transfers, sampled product, and their placement.

Attend all scheduled department, store, and training meetings.

Answer phone calls with proper etiquette.

Assist other departments as necessary; to facilitate customer service and maintain shared fate with team work in our store.

Practice safe use, proper care, and maintenance of all tools, utensils, and equipment required by the position.

Maintain a safe and sanitary department by complying with all occupational safety and health regulations and following established food safety procedures.

Report all safety or sanitation violations, hazards, accidents, and injuries to your Team Leader immediately.

Regular attendance is essential.

Perform other duties assigned by Team Leader/Store Leadership.

Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state or county issued Food Handler’s Card.
