The Student Services team is dedicated to assisting, guiding and supporting students throughout their time at St Mary’s and beyond. We provide a range of advisory and professional services, spanning wellbeing, student life and support. These include Accommodation, Counselling, Disability & Dyslexia, Student Funding, Pastoral Support and the on-site Health Centre, which is run by the York Medical Practice.

Student Services at St Mary’s University wishes to recruit a committed and highly enthusiastic individual to support and supplement the work of a variety of Student Services in a customer focussed setting.

The post holder will be based within the Student Services reception, providing a ‘first point of contact’ information, advice and guidance role with a passion to provide excellent customer service and pastoral support to students, parents and visitors. The post holder will work in all areas of Student Services gaining in-depth knowledge of every aspect of our service provision in order to provide pastoral support to students and effectively triage to the appropriate services both internally and externally. The post holder will also provide varied administrative support whilst managing diaries and appointments to ensure students’ needs are met. The role will also include working pro-actively as part of the Student Services team, providing essential back up at busy times with the focus on high quality service delivery to students and enhancing the student experience.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player, have a ‘can do’ approach with proven administrative experience in a customer- focussed environment with excellent IT skills and strong oral and written communication skills. You will be highly organised and have the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality. The ability to work calmly in a crisis, flexibly, both independently and as part of a team is essential.
