Humana’s Maternal Child Health/Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (MCH/EPSDT) Coordinator will collaborate with all departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality maternal and postpartum care and EPSDT services, including the promotion of family planning services and preventive health strategies. They will be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, measurement, and improvement of Humana’s MCH/EPSDT delivery approach, with the aim of promoting culturally-competent, timely, and appropriate maternal and child health services for our enrollees.

Responsibilities

Humana’s Maternal Child Health/Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (MCH/EPSDT) Coordinator will collaborate with all departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality maternal and postpartum care and EPSDT services, including the promotion of family planning services and preventive health strategies. They will be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, measurement, and improvement of Humana’s MCH/EPSDT delivery approach, with the aim of promoting culturally-competent, timely, and appropriate maternal and child health services for our enrollees.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Identify and coordinate services for identified enrollee needs, specific to MCH and EPSDT.
  • Coordinate with community partners to support the delivery of EPSDT and MCH services, including development and implementation of population health programs.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of comprehensive, community-based enrollee education programs related to EPSDT and MCH.
  • Develop staff skills and competencies through ongoing education and training on topics related to EPSDT and MCH, including relevant state and federal requirements.
  • Collaborate with provider relations personnel to support provider education efforts related to EPSDT and MCH.
  • Oversee EPSDT and MCH quality performance, including monitoring EPSDT performance measures and trends in MCH/EPSDT care delivery and developing performance improvement initiatives as appropriate.
  • Oversee preparation of monitoring and data trend reports for review by the Quality Improvement Committee (QIC) and plan leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and NCQA standards that pertain to EPSDT and MCH.
  • Participate in QIC meetings to advise on EPSDT and MCH performance and related quality initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Maternal Child Health/EPSDT Coordinator shall meet one of the following:

  • Louisiana-licensed registered nurse, physician, or physician’s assistant, or
  • Master’s degree in health services, public health, or healthcare administration or related field, or
  • CPHQ or CHCQM certification.

Maternal Child Health/EPSDT Coordinator shall meet all of the following:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in MCH or EPSDT.
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ experience working with Medicaid, CHIP, and TANF populations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience in Medicaid managed care case management or quality improvement.
