The Operations team has the primary responsibility for two activities:

  • Proactively monitored and reacting to improve IT systems SLAs
  • Ensuring repeatable IT tasks are undertaken, e.g. backups, reports, server builds, patching etc

Operations and Continuous Improvement

In this role, your primary responsibility is to monitor and proactively manage NUIX IT systems to ‘keep the lights on’ and managing all repeatable activities, including:

  • Monitoring and reacting to service issues and manage escalations
  • Building and supporting a worldwide Operations team
  • Applying a disciplined approach to ensure the smooth running of complex global infrastructure hosting, targeting 99.9% + uptime and availability.
  • Day to day administration and support of systems and applications (including a mixed Windows/Linux OS environment)
  • Being an escalation point for 2nd level requests (incidents and service requests), particularly with local issues
  • Assisting in resolving and\or escalating information security threats both internally and externally
  • Undertaking pro-active activities to mitigate or minimize the impact of detected issues
  • Ensuring repeatable activities are maintained, such as backups, anti-virus updates, patching, capacity management and managing employee accounts and security
  • Assist in contributing and managing the IT risk register
  • Working within the team to maintain the lifecycle management for Nuix global systems, such upgrades and service improvements
  • Looking for and driving new opportunities to improve efficiencies, such as automation and writing scripts for repeatable processes
  • Work with the Chief Information Security Officer to prepare, react, and respond to security incidents and other teams for critical issues
  • Contributing and maintaining a ‘Source of truth’ for all IT information, such as asset information, procedures, how-to documents, support and licensing details
  • Ensuring Change and Incident Management processes are maintained
  • Looking for opportunities both within IT and the business to improve services either by processes or technology
  • Maintaining a schedule of planned activities
  • Delivering weekly reports for the management team
  • May be required to be part of a roster within the team to be ‘on-call’ after hours
  • Assisting with regular activities such as security scans and licensing compliance
  • Assist in tracking and reporting on local IT expenditures


In this role, you and your team may also need to assist the IT Delivery team from time to time. This would include tasks such as:

  • Assisting in building and\or reviewing other new systems, by testing, providing constructive feedback and creating new operating procedures
  • Ensuring appropriate support documentation from the Delivery Team is complete and satisfactory
  • Assisting with investigations to help manage project scope
  • Reviewing appropriate documents for delivery of new systems, such as high-level designs, detailed designs, project plans and intended testing processes
  • Contributing to building systems to a global standard - If a standard is not yet mature, then assisting in contributing or refining such standards

Additionally, you are also expected to assist in:

  • Communications and relationship management
  • Quality management and organisational change management with appropriate support
  • Improving IT Risk, Change and Quality management
  • Contributing to Strategy workshops
  • Agreeing and setting IT standards across the business
  • Building all systems with Security as a key requirement
  • Managing internal and external resources for the delivery of services
