As a Division Development Manager, you will lead set the strategic direction for the Licensed Store Development organization in across a multi-state region in the Central US and across multiple key channels. The DDM manages a team of 4-6 market development managers and is a member of the Field Leadership team that sets annual development strategy for the Licensed Store organization. The success of the DDM is predicated against working cross functionally across multiple business units in fast paced environment.

Core responsibilities:

Team Leadership:
  • Places relentless focus on Partner development
  • Drives accountability to meet business objectives and to help Partners excel in role across performance metrics (Achieving Results, Living Mission and Values and Helping Other Succeed)
  • Identifies skills missing in team and creates plan to address gaps thru talent acquisition and/or training/development plans for Partners
  • Ensures appropriate resources are allocated to aid in delivering against personal, regional, divisional and organizational plans
  • Models and ensures cohesive collaboration occurs within immediate team, with cross functional teams and with customers
  • Demonstrates strong desire to help others succeed and creates an environment congruent with Starbucks mission and values

Develops and Leads Regional Growth Strategy:
  • Serves as a thought leader on external factors impacting the company, industry and customers
  • Gathers information and stakeholder input in order to lead the development of a regional growth strategy that will achieve financial targets in line with company mission and values
  • Analyzes business performance, adapts strategy and communicates to stakeholders
  • Oversees the negotiation, execution and renewal of multi-year contracts including supply and licensing agreements

Thinks Big and Influences Change:
  • Demonstrates growth mindset when making bold bets and decisions
  • Develops and models consistent messaging to ensure the cross-functional alliance necessary to reach company-wide goals
  • Influences in a healthy and productive manner that gains respect, buy in and confidence from others to find a common ground and achieve a “win-win”
  • Makes decisions first for the betterment of the company, then the regional team - does not act in ways that sub-optimize for the overall business

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree (preferred)
  • Direct outside B2B sales or business development experience (10+ years)
  • Direct experience negotiating complex agreements and contracts with executives (8+ years)
  • Experience in franchising and/or licensing in beverage or food preferred (5-7 years)
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience taking on roles of progressive responsibility
  • 10+ years of experience leading, coaching and developing teams
  • Deep industry knowledge of key segments to include, but not limited to: Business & Industry, College & University, Healthcare, Hospitality, Military
  • Functional knowledge of marketing, operations, finance, and competitive strategy
  • Ability to adapt strategies, plans and thrive in ambiguous environment
  • Expertise at simplifying complicated material to communicate in a concise and effective way
