We are looking for an experienced, passionate and collaborative Conversation Designer to join the Facebook AR/VR team. The ideal candidate is a highly creative individual who has experience designing fundamentally new ways of interacting with multimodal conversational interfaces for new and evolving design spaces. In this role, you will be responsible for conceiving, designing, prototyping and implementing bold new experiences that allow humans to more naturally interact with their devices. You will also be responsible for developing conversation standards and frameworks. This position is full-time and based in Redmond, WA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design compelling conversational user interfaces and content
  • Architect clear, natural conversation flows and define their underlying logic
  • Help establish conversation design standards, frameworks and processes to align cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to strategic decisions, working with the Product and Executive teams
  • Synthesize broad and ambiguous business requirements
  • Create, analyze and test prototypes for multimodal conversational interactions
  • Give and solicit feedback from others to raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product
  • Partner effectively with product managers, engineers, user researchers, content strategists & linguists, overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch - as well as post-launch support
  • Clearly articulate design decisions to various internal stakeholders
  • Advocate for conversation design within the Facebook AR/VR and throughout Facebook
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Conversation design experience and the proven experience to lead in cross-functional environments
  • 5+ years of experience in shipping software or conversational AI products
  • Experience creating demos for conversation
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for user research
  • Experience thinking about product strategy and vision
  • Portfolio featuring examples of conversation and interaction work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience creating prototypes for conversation
  • Experience working with researchers
