Here at Wilko our Design team are looking for a 3D Decorative Designer to join them based at our Head Office in Worksop.

The Role
A 3D Decorative Designer is a new role for us here at Wilko, with a clear focus on innovative design that suits our customer needs we’re expanding our Design team. This role will work alongside the Customer Insight, Brand Managers and Technical teams to really understand what our customer need; leading to you developing a range that creates a unique own brand offering for the Wilko customer of volume driving differentiated product.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be working on products across categories in Home decoration, Garden decoration, pets, kitchen and decorative storage. Not only will you work on an array on categories, but you’ll also be working with materials such as ceramics, glass, and wood and working confidently using surface pattern and texture.

Here are just some of the things you’ll be involved in

Creating original designs that can be utilised across a wide range of product categories that will drive trend and volume lines.
Presenting trend research & market analysis to the wider Wilko teams to drive cross function engagement & improve product development.
Responsible for designing decorative products in the Home category, focusing on 3D home categories including Home Décor, lighting, decorative garden, Kitchen, Halloween
Close management of project deadlines, ensuring projects are delivered to critical path dates.
Work alongside the customer insight team to build a strong understanding of the Wilko customer you are designing for.
Create great working relationships with Wilko team members, working closely with the Brand and Insight team, Technical and Supply base to agree and produce a range of products that create differentiation for the Wilko customer.
Working with the Senior Designer in delivering seasonal trend research and identifying new Macro and Micro design trends that are Wilko customer focused.

What we need from you

We need someone who has a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working as a Designer in 3D decorative homeware, along with proven experience in developing profitable product ranges. We need this along with:

Ability to research and translate Trend information effectively.
Excellent drawing skills for illustration creation prior to embarking on C.A.D software.
Highly skilled at using design software, Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign.
Knowledge of Soildworks software is an advantage.
Can create detailed CADs to create briefs to send to manufacture.
Must have detailed understanding of substrates & manufacturing capabilities and understand how to utilise these to get the best product, value engineering where required.
Some financial understanding including margins, profit, sales would be an advantage.
Ability to present product ranges and concepts to cross functional stakeholders.
Proven experience in the Retail Industry.

Please note this role will involve travel throughout the UK, Europe & Far East on a regular basis.
